Is business blogging worth the paper it's saving?

What do you get when you mix sizzling summer heat, two six-year olds on vacation and pressing deadlines? A neglected blog.

I am hoping to get back to more inspired and regular postings after the July 4th weekend. In the meantime, I want to wish you a happy holiday and provide these links to some great reading and some useful material, including:

  • A conference coming up: Search Engine Guide's Small Business Unleashed in Columbus, OH, on September 22 and 23.
  • A challenging study by Forrester Research reported in the Wall Street Journal that suggests corporate blogs aren't worth the paper they're saving. What do you think? You can read more about it at MarketingPilgrim.
  • A source of help. Google's just posted these guidelines to help companies select outside search engine consultants. It is worth reading the part where it mentions that it also gets e-mails saying, "Dear Google.com, I visited your website and noticed that you are not listed in most of the major search engines and directories.”
  • A challenging article. "Is Google Making Us Stoopid?" in the Atlantic Monthly.
